"In other places, culture comes down from on high. In New Orleans, it bubbles up from the streets"
- Ellis Marsalis, Jazz musician

New Orleans is our favorite city, and not just because it’s where we met. Some of the best moments here you can’t plan for. Walk around, find some live music, say hello to strangers, see what happens.

We’ll update with any exciting happenings about town as we get closer to the date.

Here are some of our favorite things:

Late night sing-alongs at the piano bar at Pat O'Brien's on Bourbon Street
The frozen coffee drink at the Erin Rose Bar
Trying to decide which establishment has better po-boys: Domilise's or Parkway Tavern
Bike riding around New Orleans especially with the Confederacy of Cruisers bike tours
Feeding the alligators on a swamp tour
Visiting Bacchannal Wine bar in the Bywater neighborhood
Taking part in a real New Orleans second line with the city's traditional Social Aid & Pleasure Clubs (Sunday afternoons, ask us for details)
Dancing to Kermit Ruffins on Thursday night at Vaughan's Lounge
Devouring the omelets at Camellia Grill near Tulane University
Taking a walking tour of the Garden District and checking out the beautiful old homes
Exploring all of the city's neighborhoods and marveling at the distinct New Orleans architecture
Shopping in the low 2000s blocks and the low 3000s blocks of Magazine Street
Reading and enjoying delicious coffee at CC's and the occasional granita for the road at PJ's coffee
Riding the streetcar to see the old mansions along St. Charles Avenue
Checking out the art galleries on Royal Street in the French Quarter
Sitting in the stands at a Tulane baseball game, "Hooray-hooray vars, vars tee ay."
Splitting a pitcher with some friends on the patio of the Bulldog Bar on Magazine Street
....and most of all having fun!
